The Provan Tiger CX is a motorhome built on a Chevrolet HD 2500 heavy-duty pickup chassis cab. It has a pass-through from the cab to the cabin, complete off-grid RV comforts, and true 4x4 off-road capabilities.
We've traveled full time in this camper for 14 years. The size vs. capacity is unique - bumper to end of box is 22 ft long. With a short wheel base and a height of only 9 ft, it is easily maneuvered into tight, out-of-the-way camp spots. The interior layout is extremely comfortable and spacious for such a small RV. There is abundant storage space inside for domestic items. The huge aluminum box (81" x 33" x 34") on the back provides an enormous space for outdoor gear/tools and also serves as a platform for a bike rack.
It has 236k miles. We bought it at 112k miles in 2011 from the second owner. We have many of the original records from the first 2 owners and have records for everything while we have owned it, including every gallon of diesel purchased. The solar/electrical system was completely renovated in 2011 with upgrades over the years. The interior was completely renovated in 2015.
The truck has been upgraded in many ways (details below) and runs well. The truck and camper are showing cosmetic wear, but it is ready for more adventures. The camper was used for remote off-grid travel so some standard camper amenities were removed, including the toilet, black water tank, gray water tank, and the connection to city water. There is currently no mattress.
If purchasing remotely, we can accommodate a mobile inspection service and provide video tours of everything. We can also load the Tiger on a shipping truck arranged by the buyer. The Tiger is located 40 mins from the San Diego airport just north of Lakeside, CA.
Payment: The RV is priced to sell. We will be available to sell for approximately a week (4/27 - 5/4) before putting it back in storage and trying again in July. This is a short timeline and we realize the constraints it puts on us and potential buyers. We expect that this timeline only works for people locally or who are serious about traveling for the sale.
