Just picked up a 1995 Montero SR 3.5 DOCH on the way home engine just died on the freeway. Now will not start just.
Checked all 3 coil is putting out when cranking. Timing belt look ok
Spark plug look good ,Not getting power at the fuel pump connector. All the fuses by the battery and driver look good.
Push the valve at the fuel filter no fuel pressure there.

Iguess chase down your no fuel pressure thing. Gotta start somewhere and knock a few things off the list of possibilities :-(

If he's not getting power at the fuel pump connector, then the fuel pump is obviously not working, and the lack of power there is what's causing the vehicle not to run.

Get the factory wiring diagrams and start tracing down wires in the fuel pump circuit to find out what's not working properly. It could be something like a broken wire somewhere, but I'd guess it's more likely a component failure of some sort that's causing power not to be sent to the fuel pump. The FSM might have diagnostic procedures for an inop fuel pump that would give you ideas on where to start looking for the problem.

There is a quick way to test the fuel pump. On the passage side fire wall close to the hinge for the hood. There should be 3 connectors taped up to the harness that runs along there, I believe a blue, brown, and black connector. Use a wire and connect one end to the battery and the other end to the brown connector (I think it's the brown one). It's been a while and I'm not around the fsm to check. But by shooting 12V to that connector it's suppose to jump the fuel pump. You can either Crack the pressure hose near the motor loose and see if it starts pushing fuel or see if you can even hear the pump kick on. I will try and look up the exact connector but if the brown doesn't work you can try the others.

Fuel pump Relay is clicking when cranking.
Tested fuel pump with 12v at the connector of the pump and is working.
Will also try at the 3 connectors tomorrow.
Thanks

Also, check the ignition power transistor (it's the unit on top of the plenum with 2 plugs going to it. I've seen the clip break on the longer oval plug and start working it's way off from the vibration of the engine. It also has a problem if the gasket inside the plug gets twisted up. Keeps it from making solid contact.

Check the power transistor also test with known good one . Same thing
So recap:
All 3 coil is putting out spark when cranking.
Fuel pump Relay is clicking when cranking
Fuel pump with pumps 12v with applied to it.
Spark plug look good
Ignition power transistor good
No aftermarket alarm, immobilizer
