Milage: 118,000
Price: $30,000?
Location: Lotus CA, 95651
This thing is awesome! It is the perfect balance of interior space and munavablity, it is no wider than a standard pick up, very space efficient because of the van body, and not taller than a 4x4 sprinter while being way more off road capable. I purchased it a few years from Winnemucca hospital, they were using it as an auxiliary unit for busy times and for special events ( ie. Burning man) hence the low miles. I bought it with plans to travel the US and Canada, with the ability to store all our gear, bikes, and skis inside away from sticky fingers and the road grime, but our life has changed as they seem to do and we have put more permanent roots down so this rig no longer fits our needs.
The Ambo has been an ongoing project for me in-between using it for local adventures, so I will try to paint the best picture i can of the build and next stages.
The Good:
The needs work:
I'll preface this with in its current form the Ambo is 2 wheel drive, I will list what it need to be completed and will give detailed notes to the buyer so nothing is missed.
Call or text me and I am happy to talk all about it. (530) 558-0200
The pictures are from various stages of the build, I will try to post another set of current one when I get a chance.

The Good:
- It is a great low milage example of both the E350 Body and 7.3L diesel, with an incredible well built Wheeled Coach Box (all heavy duty aluminum construction, you can look up their rollover testing on youtube, crazy strong/safe).
- The Ambo has a clean CA title, and is registered as a van camper, meaning no commercial registration and rv insurance that covers both the van and everything inside of it, plus its way cheaper than normal insurance!
- It is also CA smog exempt, so if it you are so inclined a 800 hp strait piped ambo could be in your future haha.
- The 4x4 conversion is the Expo Van(MG Metal Works) bracket kit with a complete 2008 f350 front axel. Fox 2.0 shocks all around, and Timberline vans rear lift and lug pattern adaptors.
- Sitting on brand new Cooper AT3 extreme 37 x 12.5 x 17's
- The interior has been striped of all the nasty ambo parts that I am sure have seen their fare share of action and the wiring has been paired back and cleaned up.
- The interior is very simple and open right now the intent was to build as we used it in order to most efficiently use the space.
- Currently there is a full bed platform the folds up into the way and a truck bed tray slide out for easy access to gear.
- The interior was re insulated with havelock wool mats and sheeted with high grade 1/4 inch plywood.
- The roof is covered with cedar plank, with led lights and a max air all installed.
- There is a diesel heater installed in working form but still needs to be plumed into the truck tank, right now it is set up on an aux tank.
- I have done many little repairs and adjustments as well, probable best to just go through everything in person, I know I am forgetting things.

- It needs a transfer case for an E4od transmission.
- Driveshafts
- Front axel regear
- Speed censer compensator
- 4x4 shift linkage
- transmission crossmember adjustment
- It has the ABS light on needs new rear censor and 04 truck front censors
- Check engine light is on, I think it is one of the glow plugs, it can be hard to start in 25 ish degree weather. But under normal temps fires right up and drives like a gem.
