1998 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4x4 with 235,000 miles. Amazing truck that has been meticulously cared for. I believe I am the 3rd owner. Original owner had the truck for about 15 years and it was always dealer maintained and garaged. Paint is amazing for it’s age, despite there being some AZ pinstriping. Everything works and this truck needs very little. I planned to keep this truck for a long time so I have done a lot to improve it and make it last forever. All the work done was with OEM parts from Toyota. This is an extra vehicle that doesn’t get driven much. I primarily use it for hunting and camping, or trips to the snow or anywhere I need 4 wheel drive. It sits too much and I hate seeing it not being driven. I am only selling it to get a Ranger or other side by side for hunting. It has a lot of work done to it in the last 3 years, most of it in the last year. See list below. I do not actually need to sell this truck, so I’m not looking to entertain any low ball offers. I have had 4 of these 4runners and know a lot about them, so I know what I have. I am happy to see it go to a new home where it can be used more than I’m using it. I have a clean title in hand. Cash only.
Work done in the last 3 years:
Alternator
Rough country suspension lift
New sunroof glass
Windshield
Full ceramic tint ($800)
Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac Lt285/70R17 load range E (only 5,000 miles) paid $1600
New spare tire
Timing belt
Water pump
Thermostat housing
Thermostat
Belts
Radiator
Radiator hoses
Cv axles and seals
Lower ball joints
Sway bar bushings
Mobil one synthetic oil
Toyota filters
The only two things I had planned to do but haven’t yet is the rebuild the rack and pinion since it has a small leak, and replace the valve cover gasket. I saved these til the end since they weren’t as big of a deal. The steering leak is annoying, but I just add lucas power steering stop leak every now and then and it’s been running fine. Other than that, this truck is about as perfect as I wanted it, besides maybe doing some bumpers one day. It’s the perfect hunting/camping/overlander/adventurer truck. It’ll literally take you anywhere you need to go.
