1awg connector

Well, I am going to install a dual batt set up in a month or so. I have a cobalt pop-up with a battery on the trailer tonque like any other trailer. I just want to isolate it from the truck battery. I am trying to find a water tight female/male connector for the hook-up from the truck to the trailer. The wire size will be maybe 1awg or close to it.
Thanks

Why such huge cable?

It was just an example. I still need to figure out the proper size. I am finding some sources and examples of some good connectors so I am ready when I shop for the items.

Unless you have a huge auxiliary battery and a huge alternator, you can use much smaller cable and save yourself some money and weight! I have a 66Ah Die Hard Platinum in my truck bed with a current monitor, and the maximum sustained current I have seen go to the battery (at 30% SOC) is less than 30 A. If you are in a similar situation, you could probably us 6 or 8 AWG wire.

It was just an example. I still need to figure out the proper size. I am finding some sources and examples of some good connectors so I am ready when I shop for the items.

You're welcome. The powerpoles are quite good connectors. Marine grade connectors are also good but you might have trouble finding them in the sizes you want.

Here is a link to some data on how to calculate your wire size:
