Can someone with a 3rd gen 4runner who has a 1st gen rollbar installed take a few measurements for me (see lines in red, best photo I could find)

Also, what is the diameter of the rollbar and the distance between the top of the rollbar to the bottom of headliner. What is the distance between the side of the rollbar to the side of the interior trim.

I'm just wondering I have an idea for one and I kind of want to sketch it out but I need the measurements.

I dont have mine installed yet. Ive had a few ideas of extending the roll bar towards the front of the cab but not sure yet. What do you have in mind if ya dont mind me asking?

I'm trying to see if it would possible to make up some sort of mounting bracket/platform to hold a jerry can (water or gas) since I don't have a carrier or something to strap them to up top. I currently keep both in my vehicle behind the passenger seat.

Looking to see how much room there is inbetween the bars or behind the back one.

The other idea is too put a light in it or mount a small flip down tv to it. HeHeHe.

Build a swing out. I'm impressed you can stand a gas can inside the cab with you. Space is already at a premium in the 3rd gens, i'm jealous of the 2nd gen cargo area!

It's not bad. I'm just carefully when filling it and clean off any excesses. I've done a few trips with it in there with no problems.

I'd love a swing out gas can carrier but the almighty $$ rules. So I'm trying to find a cheaper solution. I guess I can just strap in to the roof rack too.
