I have the ultimate lift from toytec-I'm not sure what the difference is. It does ride nice on road and off. But if I was going to do it again. I'd go with the cheaper 5100's or OME shocks. Once you have the fronts set you never go and adjust them, so it's a cool feature-that you'll probably never use.

Well, the Toytec BOSS kit has been purchased, delivered to the shop, and is going on as I type.

Huge shout out to Drew Frederick and all the guys at Toytec. It's been a while since I had to upgrade a suspension and it is great to see that their customer responsiveness is as superb as ever.

The coil-overs are hugely impressive. I went for the LR upper control arms as well. The add-a-leaf and longer rear shocks also look great. The diff drop should keep the geometry within reason.

Let's see how this goes...

Keep us posted man! I'm interested to see what your impressions are.

I would highly suggest researching the boot clamp mod. After I installed my OME lift I started spitting grease instantly. The mod has helped some but I'm still spitting, I have a set of high angle boots on the way to hopefully resolve this and prevent future failure.

Interesting. Thanks.

I know some FJ Cruisers had a terrible issue with this. Thankfully, I've never had it but my lift is relatively mild. Just as I hope to do on the Tundra.

I'd like to hear about how those boots work out.

I was blown away at the craftsmanship of the components. But I am as curious as you are regarding real-world performance and will report back in due course.

I guess if nothing else, I can soon officially declare that my truck is "modded" :)

Everything else I've done so far have been things like a solar panel, fridge and creature comforts...

The problem with the boots is that you have to remove and rebuild the entire front end. I've got the boots sitting in a box.
Heh, I've also got the clamps - I need to put them on as I've been spitting some grease too.

Yea you have to pull the CV's which is time consuming but not necessarily difficult.

I have 5100/OME 885s in the front, with the LR arms, and havent put in Wheelers AAL yet...

I know you already went with the Toytech, but if I had it to do again, I think I would go with the 885s and OME struts/shocks.

Interested to see what you will think of the final install...

I am looking forward to your review of the BOSS suspension. I almost went with it on my 06 Tundra but decided on the Old Man Emu setup due to the fact that it was just simple and tough.

Where are you in CO?

So far, it is great. I just drove it home. I am immediately impressed that on-road it is as smooth-- or smoother-- than before.

It is just the right amount of lift, I think. Looks freaking great. Pics and more info coming.

I was shocked (no pun) at how the Bilstein shock failed. I'd encourage anyone with old Billies to inspect their set-ups. In my casual web search, it appears this is an all-too-common issue.

I'm in The Pinery. Love it here. If you're ever in DougCo, beers and BBQ are on me.

Can't wait to see the pics and I'll let you know next time I'm down that way
