1st post & it’s an epiphany

So about three years ago on a trip to Minneapolis from Canada I searched out the ever elusive Harbor Freight & bought their “heavy duty” folding trailer kit which I then assembled cutting it down to six feet long with the intention of making it my expedition trailer.

Today came the epiphany! After talking to a friend who said he would weld my HF bolt together trailer for me I realized instead of making it my ET which meant changing the axle, springs, tires and adding a longer tongue I will make it my general purpose Ute.

Why? Because my present Ute which was built with the help of another friend and my brother is based on a HD boat trailer which I put a 3,500 lb axle with plates for drum brakes on and is much wider than the HF 4’ wide trailer.

This will allow for a wider explorer box, maybe taller but definitely more storage space, slide out side trays in front, tailgate in back, Jeep wheels, increased weight capacity and an all out beefier rugged and capable look!

I’ve started collecting the various components for the electrical system, side gear box and apocalypse weapons and I figure I will be ready to bug out once the Canadian “The Purge” happens for real!!!

I’m super excited(especially for what I have planned for the electrical system which will include solar and generator power)to get started wiring the electrical system(I love that stuff)and making this a military style Canadian off-road with onboard water and compressed air tank yadayadayada!!!

My tow vehicle is a 2012 F-150(I love my Fords)5.0L Screw.
Can you tell I’m so stoked?!

I have done lots of research, planning and will draw on my experience hunting & camping, my wifey’s needs and my brothers years of jeeping/off-roading.

I’ll include some pics I am referencing off the net for my build.

Any idea”s, advice or input is welcome!
