I have had the van for 6-7 years and used it to travel racing bicycles. It’s a totally blank slate. Insulation and wood in the back just to make it quiet while driving.. otherwise-build it and go! Would absolutely drive it anywhere.
8.1l big block 502-tons of power and will pull whatever. Good news is it gets about 14 miles a gallon, all the time and no matter what. So, I would imagine, if you build it out it should still get somewhere close to that. Manual 4x4 transfer case that works and functions flawlessly, should continue to give no problems. Transmission shifts as it should. I drive this thing most every day and anywhere.
I don’t know what the van was initially used for, but there is a ton of wiring still in it, although it is unhooked. It’s still in there and I’ve never taken it out. I am pretty sure that it has always been a TN van so the undercarriage is really clean. I know it’s been here for 12-13 years.
I put new Firestone Transforce A/T 10 ply tires on it about 5k ago. They are good road tires with enough tread to go just about anywhere else.
It has a few quirks expected in an 18 year old van. Drivers window has to go up and down manually. It might be the fuse or the regulator, I’ve never looked into it. Rock chip the size of a quarter on the windshield. Been that way and hasn’t gotten bigger. Body has some light scratches that would probably buff out. Few small dents, most noticeably the rear passenger door where my trailer came unhitched!!! Doh! Doesn’t effect its closure, just is.
Power windows and locks
Cruise control
Radio/cassette
65 gallon fuel tank!-I’ve gotten at least 800
Miles on a tank.
It’s 18 years old and I use it. It’s not been sitting in my garage with me polishing it and posting pictures. It has 170k on it and mechanically is very solid and worth building.
I am in Tennessee between Nashville and Knoxville. I can help with any sort of delivery. Hell I will deliver it to you if you live somewhere interesting, or if there is good mountain biking! That’s a fact..
Text or call is the only way to reach me. If you call and I don’t answer, a simple text will do. I am probably riding or welding and can’t hear.
Ask away-$9500.... seems fair for what I’ve seen listed. Clean title in hand.
Might trade for a truck, work truck, Toyota or a cargo sprinter..
