We have a '94 one of these that we had done (before the factory offered them). Very comfortable but the fact that you have to pull out the bed and that it's in the middle of everything is a bit of a hassle.

I'd bet that the brakes on this one are considerably better than ours; if I ever did one of these again, I'd go with 19.5 wheels and way-bigger brakes.

Anybody know the GVWR and Unladen weight of these things? I'd like to tow (6900#) with this, but I don't think there's enough payload margin as the chassis seems pretty well burdened with all the RV stuff already.

Not really adequate for any serious towing - they're pretty heavy. The newer Chinooks are built on the E-450 chassis so you get a little more margin.
