2000 Ford Super Duty 7.3 Diesel, Automatic, No Rust/Super Clean -- Utah

SOLD - Thanks!

2000 (technically 1999.5) Ford Super Duty 7.3. I bought it with 229K or and with a little maintenance got it super dialed and 100% reliable, it currently has 244K miles and is driven daily. If you know these trucks they are built so heavy duty that they routinely go 300, 400K miles with regular maintenance and if they are treated well. Ice cold AC and everything functions perfectly. When I bought this I was looking at trucks with less than 160K miles when this truck was so clean that I was comfortable buying it despite the miles and because it carfaxed so well. I'm only selling because I recently completed my Toyota pickup diesel swap (so I won't need a heavy duty tow vehicle for a little while) and I'm planning a Cummins 6BT swap into a Ford and want a manual transmission version and its much easier to start with a gas V10 manual transmission donor truck for this swap.

It is super clean without a peep of rust, no dents, no rips or tears or stains in the fabric, and though its high mileage it has been totally gone through, at 229K had 1 new head and head gasket, ICP and IPR, and all injectors replaced. It has great/perfect compression, burns no oil, somewhat recent trans replacement, and is totally solid.

I just brought it back from a 2500 mile road trip to the Overland Expo on the Carbon Neutral Expedition (6 days, 5 nights off road) and it was completely solid and totally reliable and is also an absolutely wonderful Expedition Vehicle that completely exceeded my expectations. This truck served as 'the mule' of the trip, hauling lots of heavy gear and a trailer. It passes inspection with flying colors, produces no smoke, and I also don't have a place to plug it in during the winder and it starts just fine at -11F a few times this winter! Extremely comfortable inside and everything works perfectly. It is also about perfectly modified in my opinion.

I'll clean up and take good recent pics and post shortly, but here are a couple good ones for now below. The ones before the stickers were added are only from a few months ago.

Specs are:

  • 1999.5 Ford Super Duty F-250. (1995.5: bigger turbo, still has the stronger forged rods, it is an ideal year for 7.3 Powerstrokes). Extra Cab, Long Bed, 244K miles. Runs and drives perfectly.
  • 7.3 Diesel, recently gone through, good compression and burns no oil, totally solid.
  • Automatic, unknown when swapped but estimate is about 180-190K miles from Carfax Report. Oil recently changed and old oil with very close inspection showed no sign of contamination or metal from old oil and was never overheated. Trans in general also runs very cool, I have never had it over 160F.
  • Approx 1-2" lift front and rear with an additional AirLift airbag kit over the rear for weight loading.
  • Solid BFG ATs 285 75R 16 TreadWrights, D rated. Only about 4K miles on these. These measure about 33" tires on stock 16" wheels. Matching spare, brand new.
  • Big 4" paper air filter kit with cover that allows air to easily flow.
  • Turbo-back complete 4" Magnaflow exhaust that generates super low EGTs as a result. I have rarely had them over 1000 pre-turbo.
  • Recent injectors at 229K with used low mile 75K injectors.
  • Tasteful Glowshift Boost/EGT/Trans Temp all in 1 gauge that matches factory gauge color.
  • Sirius Satelite Radio (separate Starmate 4 unit).
  • Kenwood Radio, not super blingy, sounds great with iPod port.
  • Nearly immaculate interior and exterior with no dents dings and no rips or tears in the interior.
  • XLT version with the carpeted floor, power windows, cloth seats and interior (tan color), electric 4WD shifting rather than clunky floor shift found on some XLT models.
  • In general truck is totally solid, you wouldn't know it has more than 150K miles on it other than looking at the odometer.
  • TS Performance 6 Position chip that I haven't installed yet (just arrived) but I will include and should get it in sometime in the next couple days...

  • Recent windshield, all glass is perfect. Light tint in front windows, darkened rear and back window.
  • About 8 months on brand new Sears Die Hard Gold batteries with 3 year warranty.
  • Ice cold AC, everything works perfectly.
  • Remote entry, truck is basically "loaded" other than no leather seats.

Located 30 minutes east of Salt Lake City.

Feel free to ask with any questions... Everything included except Thule Rack over the cab and Roof Top Tent. More photos to come shortly when I clean it up and snap some more tomorrow.

Entertain a trade for a 2000 Tundra? I just put it on Craigslist this morning. FYI my dad has over 600,000 miles on the original motor on his 7.3 Powerstroke, most of which was towing 30 foot trailers. GREAT trucks.

And replied.. You too Kristian! I installed the chip this evening and can't believe the difference. It was already very powerful before, unreal. The high idle feature is also very nice...

definitely man...!

sale pending, thanks guys.. :)

I was tough to sell, the chip also made it only more remarkable.. I need to do a good thread about a fullsize Ford as an expo vehicle because it behaved beyond expectations.. It will be really sad to see her go.. :(

Thanks for the reply, I am sorry to miss out on this truck, its EXACTLY what I was looking for, and my white restored 1971 Alaskan camper would have looked great on that truck!

Best wishes to the buyer, drive far!

If the deal falls through and the line shrinks, I will fly to SLC with cash in hand!

Sold, sorry about this!

Thanks again Barry! He is flying out and driving all the way back back to New York City with it, with a few stops along the way back including Moab.. :)

Andre,

A public thank you (delayed).
I am enjoying the F250. I drove back to NY ∼ 3100 miles, with detours. No problems. I have a new appreciation for sellers saying: I would not hesitate to drive this vehicle cross country.
I will never use it to it's build potential, but it is nice to have the head space.

Not ExPo, but I will likely find and tow a vintage airstream home. Although "home" may be SLC after your tour.

Thanks again.
