Kei trucks have different laws for importing, just depends on your local laws about driving them onroad. Some states they are legal and others they are not, federally they can be imported and are legal to own in the US.

I believe that if it's current title states that it's a regular vehicle (not a mini truck) than you should be fine registering it anywhere.
