Please see my diagram below. My aim is to create some understanding around this as I was caught off-guard by it in the field.
If you are jacking the rear of the vehicle using the factory method there are several locations that could be used on the lower arm. The issue is that the viewing angle is such that makes finding these confusing especially in the field with a flat.
There is a indentation in the arm closest to the tire that if used will result in collapse of the jack into the arm that could lead to serious injury. See below slideshow for details.
