For Sale: 2001 Dodge 2500 4x4 diesel.
Location: Cortez, CO.
I've had the truck for almost 10 years, we bought it with 100,000 miles on it. It has 232,000 miles and a rebuilt automatic transmission. Stock. Leveling donuts up front and fairly new Cooper STT 315/75/16 with a full size spare that has 2 plugs in the sidewall from some barbed wire fencing that was in the bed with the tire. Renegade front bumper(rusty). Comes with a 5th wheel friendly heavy duty rack and a topper in fair condition. It's been a great truck. I've used it as my exploration/work/ranch truck to get hay and fire wood-so the beds a bit dinged up. Years ago it was my DD.
It appears to leak a little by the power steering pump and lately it's been starting hard. My research has turned up an air hose leak, pump issues, or possible injector issues. I haven't driven it in a while so I figured I'd sell it instead of sinking $$ into it. The driver's side seat is torn and the dash is cracked. Small crack in windshield. With some work(??) it will go for a long, long time. I wanted to drive it till it hit at least 500,000 but...diesel's are spendy! Thanks, Shawn. nine7zero 73nine 4zerozero5. Well since you asked, your description does not necessarily inspire confidence if someone is looking to spend $10k.
Then they would have to "sink more money into it" as you say you don't want too.
People are probably looking at that bumper and wondering if the rest of the truck is as ate up with rust, it just does not present well.
Add to the that an unknown starting issue and well kinda easy for people to pass it over and keep looking.
More and better pics might help, and narrow down and resolve the starting issue.
just saying...

Thanks GoodWaves. I thought it best to have full disclosure. I figured worst case scenario someone would have to drop 1500-2000 into it (money I don't have), and have a bomber truck. Best case scenario a few hundred bucks. The bumper just started to rust out this year after being on there for 5 years. The place I bought it from is out of business and it only came with a year warranty. There was a bit of surface rust on the bottoms of the doors that I sanded, primed and then rhino-lined. Don't be scared, it's a great truck that needs a little work.
