2001 Tacoma w/4:30 gears Tire advice needed

Picked up an 01 extended cab Toyota Tacoma 4x4 with the 2.7 and 5 speed. It appears I have the 4:30 gears which is nice but I'm torn on tire size. Seems like most of the searches I do come up with 4:10's, 4:56's or 4:88's. Quite honestly I don't want to regear what I already have so I'm looking for advice on tire size that that gear ratio. It has stock alloys and 31/10.5/15's on it now

I really like the "pizza cutter" size tires for my usage and am thinking about 235/85/16's or maybe the 245/75/16's. I also have a set of factory steel wheels that only weigh 2.5lbs more than the stock alloys that are on it. It it were a V6 I wouldn't have an issue but with the 2.7 I want to make sure I don't go too big or heavy

Any advice would be appreciated

Guess that depends on what you plan to do with it. Do you NEED 32" or 33" tires? Are you happy with the current 31" tires?

I'd say if it were me, I'd go 32/11.5/15 max on stock gears. But if you can make 31/10.5/15 work, I'd stick with those.

I could make them work but the additional ground clearance, however small it may be, would be nice and the 235/85/16's are essentially the same weight as the 31/10.50's but are 10 ply which is a huge bonus for me

I think you would be just fine with the 235/85s mounted on the lighter of the two sets of rims you have.
