Here is my 2001 XJ build, I have owned the jeep from 27 miles to the current 146000. The past few months I decided to make some changes to it.

1st was rough country 4.5" lift, 32" BFG's with procomp wheels. Next was Surco Roof rack.
I have also ordered Detour tailbone spare tire carrier and AJs rock sliders.

That is pretty nice, and I think you'll be happy with the Detuors Tailbone, its on my wish list.

Do you have any plans on regearing? Going from stock tires to 32s and keeping the stock 3.55:1 ring and pinion is going to be disappointing on the trail. 4.10 and 4.56 are good for 32s, with 4.10 being more polite on the street and 4.56 being better over rocks.

I have looked into regearing a little but, its really damn expensive. At least from what I have found. I am relocating from Houston, TX to Seattle in a few weeks and driving the jeep. So I dont think it will happen before then. But would like to eventually do it.

Do you still have the old wheels and tires? If you do switch them out for the 32s for the Houston->Seattle road trip, otherwise your going to realize that it is going to feel a little gutless on the highway.

No I dont have the wheels and tires. It seems to be ok at about 70 (which i think is actually about 75 mph). My trip to Seattle will be about 2 or more weeks. Going to Colo., Utah, Yellowstone, Great Falls,, MN, and Glacier.

Nice trip!

You should be fine with stock gears and 32's. I'm running 33's on mine with stock (3:55) gears, and have had no problems, even towing my M416 w/RTT.

Worst case is you can't use OD a lot.

On the trail, I haven't noticed any problems, in HI or LO range.

Installed my aj's rock sliders last night, they seem really sturdy.
