2002 Montero Limited - OME LIFT SQUEAKY AS ALL GET OUT!!

I finally got the OME suspension installed today. HD shocks all the way around. Looks fantastic. I put BFG A/T KO 265/75r16 tires all around. The suspension rides a bit stiff as expected. However, my issue is that it is so squeaky. Are there lubrication points that I missed during install? Do the bushings need to be replaced or what? It sounds like it is mainly coming from the front end. Not sure what the deal is. It's squeaking riding over everything and it's not just a little squeak, it's very very noticeable. Any help? Anyone have the same issue? Any solutions?

Did you wait to tighten the A-arm bolts to the proper torque setting until after you lowered it back on the ground? The mitsubishi service manual specifically states that you should do this.

I'm not sure if this is the problem, but the squeaks at least beg the question.

Also, I did notice a little squeaking (even done properly) when I first installed the OME HD springs/ shocks, but that settled in after a few months and mine was quiet after that.

yeah. put it back on the ground before torque setting everything to spec. it looks like on the upper wheel wells up front the shock may be making contact. i'm wondering if anyone has ever had to modify the body in order to get the shocks to set in properly?

Pending source of the squeak, white lithium grease in a spray can works wonders. Stays on for quite some time as it is very resistant to being washed away.

Any new contact points made from the OME lift. The rubber bushings on the shocks. Loosen the bolts enough to get the lube into the cracks and re-tighten tighter than you had them before. take the weight off of the rear springs and try to shift them as the could be out of the "groves". Lube those contact points while you are at it. Like was stated earlier, the squeaks are somewhat normal but will go away with time and use. New cars are treated with white lithium grease when they are built new to "hide" the squeaks until it settles.

ok. i think i may have gotten it figured out. the top of the front strut where it bolts up under the batter and air filter seems to be rubbing the sheet metal a little bit. i may have to grind a bit of that sheet metal out to make room for clearance. i'm not sure how it happened because everything is set in there as it should be.

x2 with what off-roader said....with all the installs that people have done on here there have been no contact or fitting issues with the arb suspension. It fits well and doesnt need any more modification. I would just lube the joints up and let it settle.

alright. i tore the pieces out of the engine compartment to get a good look at how the shock shaft is coming up into the upper part of the wheel well. the rubbing noise is coming from the top of the shock shaft rubbing the rim of the metal hole. the shock shaft isn't centering itself up into the hole. i'm not sure if a rubber bushing is missing out of it that keeps it centered up or what? both the left and the right side shock shaft is tilted toward the outside where as i would imagine it should all be coming right up to the center. also, when i go over bumps now it seems as if the top plate with the 3 bolts is contacting the metal in my wheel well when the spring is compressed. can't be right. can anyone tell me how the shock pieces are suppose to be assembled?
