2002 Montero XLS Heater Core Replacement

My 02 Montero XLS is in a friend's shop to have the heater core replaced. He is a great mechanic but rarely works on Mitsubishis.

He has everything loose but the cross member, and can't find a way to get it out. We've looked through the manuals that are available on mitsubishilinks and the information isn't in there.

Can anyone help?

Bumping this because I still need some help. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

He got most of the bolts out of the crossmember but the dash cap is still in place and seems to be holding everything tight. He's concerned about introducing a lot of rattles and noise if he pries it apart incorrectly.
