Story:
I purchased this vehicle from a buddy who had his eye set on a Lexus GX. Before he purchased this vehicle, it was a one owner vehicle out of Maryland. I purchased this vehicle because I know how much care my buddy took of it. All the work has been done in his garage. He is very meticulous, and I knew I would be safe taking this vehicle anywhere. It is very well equipped, has plenty of power and space and has excellent road manners.
My reason for selling is that my wife is about to complete PA school. While this is fantastic, I have realized because we are staring down giant student loans, there is little off roading in our immediate future. I had always wanted this rig, so when he offered it to me, I immediately jumped on it, but may have put the cart before the horse in terms of being able to take it out and use it. So, while I am happy to let it sit in my driveway and drive it around town, it really deserves to be used so I am making available.
Recent Service:
Full Synthetic Oil Change
Exhaust System just installed
O2 Sensors replaced
Services Needed:
It is likely time or close to time for a timing belt. Previous owner said it had only been changed once in its lifetime. I have had no issues, but it is something to consider.
Known Problems:
-Because the vehicle spent most of its life in Maryland, it does have some surface rust from the salt on the roads. It would benefit from an undercoating, but it is by no means falling apart. Please see photos. Detailed photos of undercarriage and frame are in dropbox.
-Driver’s seat has a bit of a wobble on the right bolster. I am a big guy and I notice it when getting inside. You may not if you are smaller.
-Overall wear and tear on exterior and interior. Vehicle has been used for off-roading, camping, and expeditions. Traveling buddies have had 4 legs in the past so there is some interior wear on the door panels from dogs who like to dig their claws into the leather. The exterior does have a few rock chips, small dings and limb scratches.
-Plastic panels and bumpers have been spray painted. While the original plastic lost its luster, it was easier for the previous owner to spray them then keep trying to restore the plastic. Same goes with the bumpers. After they were custom fabricated, they were spray painted. Previous owner was very much a function over form owner as this vehicle was meant to be used.
