2004 f-350 springs

Best ride in a 4" or 6" spring?

Icon?
Deaver?
Old Man Emu (ARB)?

Thinking 4" and Bushwacker cut outs and 37" or no cut and 35". Fire road snow runs and camping is what I am after best ride?

Thanks
Mike

I emailed Alcan spring http://alcanspring.com/ out of Colorado a few months ago about getting some springs made for my F350. They are infinitely customizable for height and whatever ride quality and towing capacity you want. They quoted me $300 each for 6" lift springs for mild towing. From what I've read you can't really beat them for leafs and for the price, they are far better than any of the big box companies that ship their garbage in from China. Just have to source extended brake lines and possibly a carrier drop down depending on the lift you go with, but you can pick all that stuff up from any of the major parts manufacturers. You might spend a little more up front, but I think it would be well worth it in the long run. All American made with American spring steel. Only reason I haven't bought any is having to drop the money to rebuild my transmission. Lift is pointless with a truck that can't move.

I think I can clear 38" tires with the BW cutout fender flares and a decent 2" lift kit. Not sure about the 2004. But I thought the front bumper will need trimmed a little as well.

on an '08 you can clear them, depending on backspacing/offset and the width of the tire. on the back, and assuming you're going to use lift blocks, you're going to want to make sure your axle remains centered... it may require you to implement an adjustable top plate to get that done... i just did this on an 09 250 that has a 7" integrated block on the rear making a 4.5" front lift sit dead level, as the factory on 250's use a 2. 7/8" block... running 37's and with the axle pushed aft due to the integrated block, there was a real possibility of smacking the body behind the wheel/tire under heavy compression.

Not sure how many miles but I pound them offroad all the time. Anything is better than stock but these are, dare I say plush. There is no similarity to stock at all. My truck rides nicer than a friends expedition that has air ride. They did sag after I got them but that is normal with any spring. If your springs don't settle, they are probably too stiff for your application.
