2004 taco leaf spring trade?

for last 8 years I've been running a set of custom alcan 8 leaf springs on my ext cab tacoma. I had them made to provide 2 lift while carrying 500lbs which was roughly what the truck had on a daily basis. with an expanding family we've moved to a trailer for all adventures leaving the bed empty, no roof rack, just a cap now. as a result the rear end has gone up 2.5 inches and combined with front icons settling a bit it now sits almost exactly 3 inches higher in the rear which isn't great.

I was going to remove 2 leafs to lower it and provide a softer ride for daily driving now, but thought I might see if anyone has a more "standard" 2 in lift set they'd just want to swap me before I modify these ones. seems like a shame to disassemble a $699 leaf set when I'm just trying to get back to what the $349 Dakar pack does stock.

if anyone is looking to carry a heavier overland load like I was, let me know and maybe we can work something out. if not I'll just mod these to work... don't really want to buy a new set of leaves unless I could sell or trade these to cover the cost somehow.

I'm located in round rock texas

Yah. Now this comes up... I was just looking for a beefier leaf pack. Ended up getting a 3-leaf pack from Wheeler's and modding the existing.

Good luck with the trade - Here's a bump for you

thats generally the problem with leaf spring shipping. i've delayed doing this while my coilovers go back to icon to get rebuilt and a new 650lb spring since i realized some of my *** up problem was actually that the front has sagged quite a bit over the last few years with an ARB + dual battery in the front. So still time if anyone happens to be local!

you carrying a winch around too? i was afraid without another 100lbs in winch the 700's would ride too stiff, but did see they're avail

I actually don't even have a aftermarket front bumper. I got the springs in preparation for an arb bumper, winch and budbuilt skid plates. The ride is barely noticeable. If you think about it in the weight of the entire vehicle then 200 lbs isnt really that much of difference. the springs i got are also 14" vs 13", so that allowed more be to have less preload on my front shocks to level the truck

200lbs isn't much its true, but having it in front of the coils is like putting 200lbs on a hitch in the back, can really squat down the truck. I didn't know that they even offered longer 14" springs versus 13", I don't see that as an option on their website, is that something custom they did for you or how did you find out/ask about it? I guess longer springs would mean you _must_ have 1 inch of lift or something limiting the downward adjustability, but does anyone really run less than 1 inch of lift who buys coilovers from icon? i doubt it....

yup still on the truck as-is, decided to rebuild the front icons first so they're not sagging before butchering up the rear. then I came down with strep throat so here I am weeks later having not done squat :/
