FOR SALE: 2004 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road
Location: Greenville, South Carolina
Description: 4wd Tacoma (Sandy), 265/75 R16 tires, full size spare mounted on matching wheel, manual transmission, OME 2.5 inch lift kit with heavy load leaf springs, SPC upper control arms, ARB front bull bar, Harbor Freight Badlands winch 12,000lbs. My wife and I bought this truck in 2017 with the plans to drive the PanAmerican Highway. I spent quite some time descaling and applying rust proofing paint to the undercarriage and it is in very good shape. We mounted a Go Fast Camper to the bed and then sent a year driving from South Carolina, up the east coast, across Canada, up to the Arctic Ocean via the Dempster Highway. We then spent 6 weeks in Alaska and then drove down the west coast to the bottom of Baja, took a ferry to mainland Mexico. We shipped the truck to Cartagena via Veracruz. Once in Colombia, the pandemic shut everything down, and we spent the next 2.5 months in lockdown and the truck was parked in a parking garage awaiting passage back home for us and our truck. Eventually we all (Sandy included) made it back home safely. Through all of that the truck barely missed a beat. In Calgary, the driver side wheel bearing was replaced. In Inuvik, a replacement alternator was flown in and replaced, and in Ensenada, a new muffler was welded on. Last summer the AC compressor and hard lines were replaced. Oil was replaced at 5k mile intervals and the transmission/diff fluids were replaced @ 15k mile intervals since I've owned the truck. It's become a part of the family, but our family is growing and it is time to part with her. I hope the next person makes just as many memories as we have made with her.
