In the process of repairing my CD/DCD changer, I discovered some VAIS modules nestled within the dash. I'm pretty sure they work, but have no way to test them because one is an interface for an older style iPod with the long flat thin multipin connector, and the other is for Sirius satellite; the Sirius satellite tuner was also in there. I don't have an iAnything, and don't subscribe to Sirius. However pressing the "Disc" button twice on the factory unit cycles first through the standard CD/DVD screen, then another "MDPlay" screen that shows folder/track info, so I'm assuming that's the VAIS iPod module. There's also several extra screens for satellite radio. The modules were made in 2008 based upon their labels, and are SoundLinQ2 SL2i and SL2s respectively, along with an "SCC1" Sirius tuner. The antenna for the tuner is mounted above my rear liftgate hatch on the roof, and tracing that wire up to the dash doesn't interest me so I can't include that, but everything else needed in terms of cabling to the head unit and from the modules to an old style iPod and the Sirius tuner is included.
I have no use for this stuff, but I hate to just throw away working equipment especially when the new versions are going for about $250 each. The interface is genius.. doesn't interfere with your factory Levinson system at all, NO splicing or change of functionality, just plug it in, follow an initialization procedure, and you've got added functionality. If anyone can use these, $100 shipped; the modules are pretty light and small. If that's too much, make any offer. If not, in the trash they go. I can send pics to anyone interested. Located in central NY state.
