Well, I am finally getting bit by the 4x4 bug again. I sold my jeep a while back after running into some issues with it (and then got married, bought a house, had a baby, and bought another house). I got a great deal on an 06 Durango that is loaded and am looking to do some small mods for back country exploring. My wife was never a huge fan of the slow speed, technical, rough trails but loved getting out. I am going to be keeping it close to stock but it's purpose will be to get us out into the back country to enjoy camping/scenery as a family rather than the just running trails all day. Also, it's my daily driver and we have some rough winters up here.
I was looking at installing a front hitch for a winch (already have a hitch mounted winch) but it will eliminate the little approach angle that I do have. Instead I am going to mount it in the rear winch and get a deep cycle dry cell battery for the trunk. Worst case scenario I can mount the winch to a tree and hook up to my front recovery point.
Other than that I plan on doing a leveling kit, some offroad driving lights, and possibly a roof rack/basket.
