I just bought a 2006 E-350 Type III. 2wd 6.0 diesel.
Pretty excited due to condition of it. It basically perfect. 190k miles.
NOW WHAT?

Sit in it, think about what you can use each area for. Do that for a month or so before you start ripping pieces out. It is a lot easier to do the demolition than the construction.

Also check with the for guys in the 2wd/4wd van section on what to look out for with the Ford 6.0.

Been sitting in daily, My approach will be no demo other than oxygen ports, gurney floor fixtures etc.
So far I plan to I plan to add a foldable bed, micro, fridge, porta potti.
I wiol post photos when I start.
On the 6.0, i have owned many (drilling contracting biz) and know the bulletproof routine.
No plans for 4wd but will probably add 4" weldtec lift and a rear locker.

Right now i have been messing with wiring. Nothing was cut or removed but somehow disabled. The master power does not come on. Something was unhooked somewhere. This was probably done because it still has all red lights and sirens intact.

Finally got around to working on this thing! Put a Weldtec 4" lift on it an 255/85r16 tires (33.5" x 9.50").
The 4" is to low in the front so I got the 6" springs and shocks for the front and will swap them this weekend.
Installed a Kenwood head unit, 5 channel amp, 4 Kenwood component 6"x8" speakers and two 10" subs. Also got all the windows tinted.
Replaced some of the red lenses with clears and blacked the remainder of them out.
I am starting on a bed now. I'll post pics when I install it.
