~80,200 miles
factory 4-wheel drive
Tilt cab that’s only five feet long compared to a conventional cab that starts at about 11 feet. The sheet metal and paint is in very good shape. The tilt cab provides excellent visibility as there is no hood to see over. Great for those steep hill crests where you wonder if there’s really a road on the other side. The cab roof is currently about eight feet above the road surface.
Engine oil and antifreeze can be checked without tilting the cab.
4.9L turbodiesel 4 cylinder engine with glow plugs; no DEF
5-speed manual transmission (this was the last year for manual transmissions in Fuso, I believe)
manual locking hubs
2-speed transfer case
33-gallon fuel tank
4-wheel drum brakes (they last longer off road than discs) and they look very new
Jake brake (when used it should double the life of the brake pads)
The clutch was replaced at 72,000 miles (and before I owned it)
snorkel
Parking brake is a driveline type
31” Cooper tires with good tread
Air conditioning
Heated mirrors
Heavy duty receiver for towing welded onto the frame which can work as a rear pull point
Has a factory pull point in the front
Very recently serviced at Portland (Oregon) Mitsubishi Fuso (new filters, oil, lubrication)
I had the frame sandblasted and painted after I removed the dump bed that was on it.
The truck was previously titled in North Carolina, now titled, licensed, and insured in Nevada.
Current cab and chassis weight: 5,840 pounds
Gross Vehicle Weight: 14,050 pounds (that’s a lot of payload capacity) and with the short cab length, one can build up to a 14 foot long camper and still be shorter than a full-sized American pickup truck. Fuso says it can accommodate up to a 16 foot bed, but I think it would ruin the departure angle to go beyond 14 feet.

Asking price: $39,000.

I recently bought this truck from a private seller here on Expedition Portal and was going to build a camper on it. It was listed in Portland, Oregon. I have realized that I don’t have the time or money for this project and needed to get out before I had much more invested. Plus most of my time is being taken up by doctors these days. That makes it hard to work on the truck and it may make it harder than I’d prefer to make arrangements for you to see the truck.

The truck is currently in Austin, Nevada which is about 170 miles east of Reno, Nevada. If I can figure out a place to park it in a warmer, more metropolitan area, I may move it. I travel fulltime and have no home base. I currently have a tow bar adapter installed on the front of the truck. The tow bar shown in the photos has been replaced with a much heavier capacity tow bar. I have the factory bumper, mounts, and bolts and it’s all included.

Things that I’m throwing in or could be part of the deal:
41mm, 1-inch drive impact socket for the lug nuts
torque multiplier for removing and reinstalling lug nuts easily
Can be negotiated: 10,000 pound capacity, direct connect tow bar built by Roadmaster and towing lights and harness. I have been towing the truck from place to place since I can’t drive two vehicles at once.

Things that need to be addressed possibly:
Fuel tank is dented and has 33 gallon capacity
The ABS modulator is defective (I’m not a fan of ABS off road, so that’s not a drawback to me).
Radio antenna is broken
Driver’s seat is torn ( I hear nobody likes the factory seats anyway)
Glove box cover is loose
No spare tire
No jack

Things I was going to do as part of my build:
Replace the suspension on all four wheels and replace the wheels with super singles with 37” tires (which would add four inches of clearance). Parts are available from at least two sources in North America.
Replace fuel tank with a 45-gallon Freightliner tank.
Build and mount a 14 foot long camper that was 80 inches wide (the cab is 77 inches wide not counting the mirrors) and about 6.5 feet tall so that even after insulation, I could stand up in it.
Install underbed tool boxes and underbed marine batteries
Replace the front bumper.
Add backup camera.

The truck rides very stiffly right now since it has the factory suspension built for 14,000 pound GVW and no bed.
