***2010 ICON Toyota Landcruiser FJ45***

$148,000 is laughable.

You have to consider that it is a hand built vehicle, they are even making their own mandrel bent tube frames. Even at $150'000, I am sure Icon isn't making too much money off those LC's. They have to cover their overhead cost, which probably isn't cheap being in California. Icon is TLC's side boutique brand, yes?

If you have ever researched any hand built vehicle such as sand rails, hot rods, Pro Touring muscle cars, motorcycles, even bicycles it is going to cost you. There is a market for such vehicles, small as it may.

I would like to see Icon install Toyota running gear, for $150'000 it damn well should have a Toyota diesel. That and a hardtop, those soft tops might be good for Southern California, however as soon as you head up North into the high country, it is going to be a wee bit nippy...

Is the Icon worth $150K? Yes.

Would I buy it, if I had the cash? No.

For us mortals, there is also the AEV Brute conversion.

very pretty truck.

If I had the $150k I would buy a REAL FJ45, put some good money into it and still have well over $100k to fund a nice overland trip.

I would fly over to Australia and get a brand new Troopy Camper conversion.

I have to agree with NOMADIC, you could buy an original FJ45, put a load of cash into it and still have a load of cash to play around with.

IMO the ICON line of vehicles isn't very appealing to the eye. But if you have the money...........

Like my boss used to say, there is an *** for every seat...........

That is what I like about it, very subtle looking. Not in your face like most hand built vehicles.

I really dig the Slate color.

I live 8 minutes down the road from the dealership this new Icon model's being sold at. It was parked out front for a few days and when I pointed it out to the wife, she was impressed. Now that I just told her the price posted earlier, she laughed.

I know some people can afford this kind of thing but I agree, if I had that kind of money I would rather have a 70 from Australia. Great work on the Icons though.

Funny thing about that dealership I thought, they had a Tundra delivering parts the other day and there were Rovers, Feraris, Maserati, Jaguars and an Icon parked out front.

I like it, but certainly not enough to pay that kind of price.

I'm sure that if you went to the trouble to have a 1975 Ford Pinto hand built from scratch with updated mechanicals you'd end up paying six figures for it. But would it be worth it? That would be for the buyer to decide...

I would guess that the typical buyer of one of these Icon vehicles doesn't have to make either\or choices.
