2011 FJ Cruiser 4x4 with manual transmission $26,270
2011 FJ Cruiser 4x4 with auto transmission $26,680
Both prices represent an increase of about 4.3%
The FJ Cruiser Trail Teams model includes several features that appeal to the driver who plans to take the truck off-road
-- Off-Road suspension package is standard, and includes Bilstein shocks, skid plates, locking rear differential, A-Trac traction control, skid plates for engine, trans, transfer case, rear diff, gas tank, rock rails, plus BF Goodrich all terrain tires mounted on alloy wheels
-- cyclone type pre-filter for air cleaner
-- water resistant seats and rubber floor mat to simplify cleaning
-- rear backup camera
The 2010 Trail Teams model cost about $6500 more than the base 4x4. I expect the 2011 model to carry a similar premium.
Features common to all FJ Cruisers include
-- 2 speed transfer case with 2.56 low range
-- with manual trans, diffs have 3.90 gearing, which translates to a 41.8 crawl ratio
The FJ Cruiser's crawl ratio is similar to Jeep Wrangler Sport and Sahara models. The 2010 Wrangler Rubicon model has a 4 to 1 low range reduction and 4.10 gears in the differentials, resulting in a crawl ratio of 73 to 1.
