Still has not found a good home. I drove it for a couple hundred miles last week and behaved excellently ! Will take some 360* pictures or whatever the internet recommends now that it's green out, and not depressingly brown/foggy/tree-less leaves everywhere.

What's the payload? Looking for something to full time in, so would love to get a nice topper for it and build it out.

Payload is 1349#, which is ~200# more than a similar 4-door short box Tacoma but still not a lot of weight. Midsize trucks are notoriously payload limited.

Some of the mods do subtract from that (DECKED and the front bumper + winch are the heaviest detractors, but there is also the cumulative weight of the skids and other things like the ARB twin that add up). In total there's probably about 700# of payload remaining. Platform rear seat did gain back some weight, and DECKED is of course removeable and easily re-sellable.

The OME HD rear leafsprings are designed for carrying more than 600# all the time, up to max payload, so no issues with the rear suspension sagging !

"The bad"

I have slightly enhanced all of these photos to represent them worse than they appear in real life.
You can still see how crisp the reflections are in 8yo paint, despite "the bad" parts. I've tried to treat this truck as well as I can, but I still used it as a truck. All scrapes/dents that were down to bare metal were rust prevented (slightly sanded sharp paint edges, applied GM cyber grey touchup paint, GM touchup clearcoat, and turtle wax hybrid solutions on the entire truck 2x/yr)

Small ding in driver door. Hard to get a representative picture, this one I think shows it worse than it is:

There is leafy pinstriping in the clearcoat. None of it appears through the base coat, just clearcoat on top:

I'm guessing you don't have the rear seat however can a rear seat be sourced and added back in if needed?

I actually do still have the rear seats and all hardware, in a marked bag or box. I thought they would make a nice garage couch, but never got around to cutting the extruded aluminum to do it. Happy to include them and the applicable torque specs if one wanted to reinstall them. Nothing was cut or destroyed putting the platform in, and the weathertech mats are still in the footwells in the rear.

Drove like a champ for ~160mi today.

~80mi each way, ~87*F outside, single lane 55mph roads to Asheboro and back.
  • Firstly, there were no drips on my garage floor.
  • No weird rattles or noises while driving.
  • Speedo was accurate compared to GPS
  • Cruise Control worked and is nice for longer drives.
  • A/C worked great.
  • Tow/Haul (+diesel exhaust brake) worked well.
  • Shifted smoothly (I put it in manual/limit and limit it to 5th gear for 60mph. Technique I learned on the forums).
  • Trans never got above 175*.
  • Injector balance rates were good before, during, and after (never an imbalance of more than +/- 1 in neutral, parked).

Decked makes it quite easy to secure bulky cargo.

Rear platform also super useful for securing oddly shaped things you don't want rolling around in the truck bed.
