We have a 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman Quad Cab 4x4 with a 5.7 Hemi / 6.4’ bed we bought new for our homestead awhile back. We want to know if the truck will work for overlanding with some upgrades. It only has 15,000 miles. We are thinking of ordering a Project M pop up, and we plan to haul our kayaks and mountain bikes. Thanks.

Sure, why not? “Overlanding” is just a marketing term for car camping—what people have already been doing for decades.
Just load up with camp gear and head out. You may not even need “upgrades.”

Yes it will work but there are a lot of things to consider before buying stuff. What type of terrain/trails will you be traveling on? Do you need more ground clearance, suspension or better tires? What’s your payload after the 500lb Project M pop up camper is on it? Where will you put the bikes/ kayaks with a camper? I have a 2019 Ram also so I’m interested in what you come up with.
