2021 Chevy Express - New Build, 285/70-17 Fitting?

Hi All,

We recently picked up a low mileage 2021 Express passenger, 6.6 gasser, long wheelbase to use as the starting point for our new van build. We just got it back from Advanced for the 4x conversion with a 3" lift. My question is, what are people have to do to fit 285/70-17?

Based on the interwebs, I picked up some Method NV 305s with 0 offset and 4.75 backspacing as recommended (by advanced as well). I had a near new set of Cooper Discoverer Rugged Treks from a 4runner I sold, so swapped those on. The look is amazing. The fit, not so much. It looks like the lower fender basically needs to go. For those that have a similar setup, how much of a massage did you have to give to make these fit?

Good looking rig. It’s pretty standard and not a big deal to relief out that small inner fender. It’s just fiber glass and comes away easily with a Dremel or grinder of some sort then you should be set. You may also need to carve out a little from the body mount that is right right back there as well. Weldtec has a video that’s worth watching on that. All of those are pretty easy with an angle grinder and/or Dremel type tool. Especially the fender. No biggie.

I would add that you can likely index your keys up a little in the front if you have a torsion bar conversion which I’m guessing you do. That’ll give you some lift. I’ve run 285/70x17 tires with zero offset rims for years after doing a little reliefing as mentioned and it’s been great. No issues.

Thanks, exactly what I was hoping for. I didn't want to start grinding away if it wasn't going to help. I will take a look for the Weldtec video.
