I’m moving to London and it doesn't make sense to bring our tricked-out ski mobile with us. This is my dream van that I built to last. I had no plans of selling it until my wife took and job in England and we decided to go for it.
I custom ordered this 2021 4x4 turbo diesel Mercedes Benz Sprinter from a Mercedes van dealership in Wilmington NC. I built the 144”, high-roof cargo bay van including all of the optional advanced features on the build sheet. Read more about how this van was built below. It took them a couple of months to get it to me, so we began driving it in August of 2021.
I’ve had a lot of friends who DIY vans over the years, so took a lot of their advice to heart when it came to building on top of our cargo van. The main feedback was don’t skimp on electrical, insulation, heater, and solar as the interior can be done cheaply and rarely needs repairs. I built this van to be the ultimate ski mobile for 1-3 night trips. This van is ready to romp through the snow, but can still be "finished" to your liking! I wired it for ski boot dryers, a heated ski clothes cabinet, and a heated vertical ski rack in the back, but wasn't able to complete the build due to the move to London. So, you can finish my vision or build the interior however you please. All of the difficult and technical steps of the van build-out are done. All the systems installed so far are bomber and built for 10+ years of ownership as I had zero intention of selling this van until our life changed.
Please reach out with any questions, to receive the factory build sheet with all build details, or to set up a showing/test drive. 11/20 in the Wellesley/Boston area is best for a meeting in person.
Below is a highlight of the factory-built cargo van specs and the systems/parts added since I received the van.
