I just started my G Wagen project and I'm so excited to find this thread. Thanks Scott! This is exactly what forums should be all about; sharing information and resources.

I am working with Gesellschaft fur Gelandewagen, GfG, in Germany. I visited the shop last week. Both owners are previous Mercedes Benz employees, and extremely knowledgable on the G Klass. I believe that Daniel Wiesel also used to work for ORC. They have a web shop and offer a similar scope of products as ORC. I think it's worth adding them to this pool of resources:

These guys have a ton of military G parts for great deals, but they do not export. You would have to use a freight forwarder or another person in Germany.

I recently bought some parts from Kurth Classics. They ship to USA and have good deals on bushings and a number of other parts.

Also Wolf Teile for 461 parts, but they do not ship overseas

A few good eBay vendors not listed here previously.
Gelendewagenparts

Slava in Portland OR has parted out a bunch of 463 G-class

McStarparts in Australia has a few interesting parts including G- Pro parts

Cool. It’s nice to finally see someone making trailing arms for these trucks. Btw I get an invalid certificate warning for your site.

Explore glazing in Holland is making rear sliding windows for the 5 door Gwagen.
I bought a passenger side version for my G500Pur project and the dogs really love it.
They aslo make a gullwing window and aluminum window guards as well.

I hope this is OK to ask here. I recently bought a 1996 rust-free Swiss Army surplus G (461?) with about 11,000 miles on it. Can anyone help me find the following parts?
1) A military style snorkel, like the one featured on the cover of the Spring 2017 Overland Journal
2) The ring and pinion sets appropriate for running 35" tires (I think the part numbers are 602 350 28 39 rear and 601 350 29 39 front)

A W461 in the USA? Not possible from what I know, unless it's here only for 1yr on temp permit.

For #1 and #2, do you know about Guido in Germany? He's the man for this.

Thanks for the response mk216V! I placed a "?" after the model number because I have forgotten it. But in searching for Guido in Germany the first article that popped up reported:
" These 461-series [Swiss Army s urplus}Puch Gs date from 1989 to 1996, and they're part of an updated continuation run of the first-generation truck that Mercedes kept up... they have already aged out of America's 25-year import restriction on new cars and are now legal for any stateside buyer willing to pay up and deal with the hassle of physically getting it over here."

I bought the vehicle last November in Germany, where it is now in a converter's shop getting some camping gear and an auxiliary-tank added. I plan to drive it around eastern Europe, Southern Europe and North Africa before shipping it home to the States.

I'll be returning to Germany soon and will try to contact Guido when I get there. Do you per chance have contact info for him? He hasn't turned up in my searches yet. Thanks again.
