3/8 drive 34mm sockets

Anyone know if a 34mm or 1 5/16 inch socket is available in 3/8 or smaller drive? And while I'm wishing preferably in shallow?
My pitman arm but is in a "sheltered" location and my half inch drive with or with out the 3/8 inch adapter just won't squeeze in there. An open end wrench won't fit enough to get it snugged down.

The nut sinks into the pitman arm. So it requires a socket...that, like my open end, will just slip off the top. Sooo close!
Keep 'em coming though!

Offset socket wrenches come to mind as well as offset wrenches. Also, it is quite possible to take a cheap tool and grind it, weld it, heat it/bend it to fit the need. If your 1/2 socket fits, but the driver does not, how about cutting the socket to the minimum length that will still turn the nut?

Of course, I cannot see it from here, but rather than shopping- just make something that works.

Typically you won't find sockets that large in 3/8" drive as most items that size can have a torque rating higher than what a typical 3/8" drive setup will handle.

I have more than once bought an inexpensive socket or wrench and modified it to work for what I needed. That becomes a single application use tool. Have even welded a impact torx socket to a large wrench to create a tool for removing the oil filter adapter bolt for a Jeep 4.0L engine. Worked perfect.

Cutting down a 1/2" drive socket (chop saw or band saw) is likely your best, easiest and cheapest route. Good luck.

Would something like these give the clearance you need? They only protrude the thickness of a box end.

I have a set with industrial finish. I think they are Chraftsman.

Have you tried the dealer? Chances are if its really that much of a pain in the butt the dealer has a specialized tool for the job. Might be worth picking up.

It's a custom set up. A boxed pitman arm. Going back to the place who made it in a couple weeks. Going see if they made the hole around the diameter of a certain socket... And buy it...or have them open up the hole...
