3 boys and their jeeps

We are happy to say that we added another jeep to the stable this week. My wife Ann, ever supportive of this ridiculous hobby found this baby used, for about 20% of the retail price. It came complete with everything..

Yep, this one is for little Joe :) He already has this baby offroad and is a natural behind the wheel...

This makes us a 3 jeep family, one for each of the boys

Here and below you see my LJ, my older son, Jonah and his TJ and Joe sporting around in his "hot wheels edition"... Jonah grew up behind the wheel of my first Rubicon and is a great driver off road. He has been at it since he was about 8 and can outdrive me in the rocks any day of the week. He is eagerly awaiting word from both the US Coast Guard Academy and the US Naval Academy in the next few weeks about an appointment.

Below, see what I am pretty sure means Joe is happy with his new ride...

And of course, the modifications have begun... this baby needs some traction assistance :)

Wonder if I can get lockers for this thing?

I got the Barbie version for my daughter years ago (she's 24 now) and just for giggles I removed the battery and replaced it with a motorcyle battery. I wouldn't give it a full charge fearing that I would fry the the wiring. But it did make the thing go twice as fast. She loved it so much that we got a letter from the apartment complex about staying off the grass. She had put a permanent figure eight in front of our front door. She'd step on the gas and the plastic wheels would do a burn out. I love being a such a good influence. Enjoy those good times and good memories.

we also bought these for the grandkids...

THIS I am going to have to explore! Well, maybe when he gets a little more able behind the wheel :) We had a blast Saturday. Our land is not friendly to this particular jeep and I am too old, lazy or something to push him around... so I took my walking stick and when he lost traction, I would just give the jeep a shove with it... "problem" solved....

HA! First thing Joe said when We got it home was...

"Work on the engine, take the wheels off"... Already indoctrinated into the truth of owning a jeep. If he had said "Fix the death wobble" I would have been really impressed!
