305s on OEM Power Wagon wheels?

Has anyone tried to mount a 305 on the factory Power Wagon wheels?
On my last PW I ran 305s on black steel and they worked great with minor trimming.
On my new one (2008) I plan on going to 305s once I wear out the 285s but am going to attempt to retain the OEM wheels.
I know the spare will fit under the bed and that the tires will clear with minor trimming of the front fenders/flares, but I don't know how the 305s will fit on the wheels.
They look like they should but it is kind of a PIA to test.
Any input?

you can run up to 37s on factory power wagon wheels theres a guy i know who is running 37s on the factory suspension and factory wheels. i also know of about 10 + guys who are running 35s on factory wheels. i am running 35s on rock crusher wheels i should have stuck with the factory wheels but ah well. you will have minor rubbing on the lower control arms and thats all.

FYI - 37's fit on very, very few PW without a lot of lift or trimming. In most cases longer control arms are required as well.

315/70-17's or 35/12.5-17 work fine with minor rubbing on control arms.

305's should fit with no problems.

Check out the only PW specific forum for '05 thru '09 (3rd Gen) Power Wagons. There is a lot of info to digest there.

Good luck finding tires in that size . I ran that size (305x70x17) on the Tirerack site and the only hit was the Goodyear MTR with Kevlar .

That's what I'm running.

I've got 305/70-17 Goodyear MT/R's on my 'Wagon now. Stock wheels.
37's fit stock wheels, but are not in the recommended minimum rim width by the tire mfr's. Probably can't air down as much w/o poppin' a bead.

305's rub control arms just like 35's. Most 35's are in reality only ~1/2 inch taller. They rub at full lock, even on level ground. Don't need to be flexing.

Make sure if you go the 35in. route, the load range is at least D and rated for at least 50psi.
Look into the 315/70-17 sizes. They are only a few tenths of an inch shorter than 35's actual height, and many have better ratings.

37's will rub like hell, stock. The people who say they "fit" don't care about rubbing wheel wells, flares, bumpers, etc.
