I hired a guide to take me through the dunes

He hotwired the truck to start it. Then I found out there was no radiator cap when he popped open the hood to check on the engine. It was a rust bucket, but it had lots of character. Chinese version of the Jeep. It was a BJ2020s.

is it me, or does this this look like it's related to the FJC?

Does look as through they sqeezed through the same birth canal.

I did an search on the BJC [Beijing Jeep Corporation] BJ2020s and came up with this. I learned something new today.

It's an interesting read especially with Beijing Jeep Corporation's old and current ties with American corporations.

American Motors Corporation (now defunct)
DaimlerChrysler / Chrysler LLC

And also "In addition to the Beijing 2020 series (marketed commercially as the City Cruiser), Beijing Jeep Corporation has produced the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Beijing Jeep Corporation (BJC) Cherokee (known locally as the Super Cherokee), and the Jeep Cherokee-based Jeep 2500.In December, 2004 Beijing Jeep Corporation and the then DaimlerChrysler embarked on the construction of a new plant for local production of the Mercedes-Benz C- and E-class."
