Older Caverman Campers

Anyone know about older Caveman Campers? There is a late 70's vintage Caveman in the local paper for sale for dirt cheap. But I cannot find much info about them.

Any help? :ylsmoke:

My folks had one - I camped a bunch in it growing up.

The one they had was the best layout I've ever seen in a camper, bar none-excellent sitting, sleeping, and cooking layout. It had a pull-down bed that anchored over the driver/passenger area that was ingenious.

The brakes sucked. Bad. Totally undersized. As were the axles.

The powerplant was less-than-ideal. But sufficient.

Most of the cab controls were the pull-knobs that are prone to failure but completely classic.

Hope this helps.

They were built in Grants Pass, OR. I met the guy that started the company some time after he retired. They were built to a high standard and were more money than most. They closed shop many years ago but age doesn't seem to make as much difference as how they are stored.

My '64 Alaskan would be in better shape if it hadn't sat unused in the open next to a guy's barn for 35 years. (But the 3 way fridge still worked!)
