I saw one of these at the Orvacs Electronics store in Fullerton, CA. It was not quite a Yamaha clone but was definitely Yamaha "inspired". Fit and finish seemed fine. It is so cheap I was tempted even though I don't need one.

Neither of those links work...

I have a Honeywell H2000i and after having two replaced under warranty, they finally sent me one of the 2nd generation 2010 units which works fine but takes a lot of pulls on the rope to get started.

I think the hot ticket for inverter gens for the next little while is going to be the new Champion:

Basically equivalent to the Honda or Yamaha and it's the first lowbuck inverter gen that can double up (connect 2 together) and have the inverters sync like the Honda or Yamaha.

Has an 80cc engine, same size as the Yamaha (Honda is 100cc) and has the same 1600w continuous, 2000w surge rating as the H and Y.

Pretty much the same run time - around 10 hours on a gallon at 400w load.

Going for about 500 bucks if you can find them. They are also producing the same unit in black and silver under the name "Category 5":

good additional info!

The forum is somehow mangling the links. If you do a quote of my message and extract the actual www link it will work or just search at Amazon for generators at Eastern Tool

800 watts is'nt very much power.

I bought a 1200 watt at Kragen a few years back. On sale and with rebate it was $99.

But even 1200w will only run 1 of those hologen work stand type light set-ups.

I think it was before the ban tho. It's a 2 stroke, loud and smelly.

It's on the shelf with my earthquake supplies and only gets fired every other month for testing now as my RV has a 55 kv genset.
