My 2003 limited has power doors locks etc, but it does lock or unlock the rear swing out door.

Does that have a power lock on it also?

Also how can you not open it from the inside this makes no sense to me at all.

Any help would be great.

Y door opens and closed fine just would like to hit the lock /unlock on my key fob.

My son sits in the 3rd row and he get mad as why he can't open the door from the inside like my land cruiser did

The rear door should work with the power lock system.
Check the servo.

I agree that no inside door handle is a horrible design. Never understood why they eliminated it after the Gen. 2.5...

Check out the FSM in the link below (page 90-118).
You can test the actuator servo which is located behind the rear door panel.
Each lock in the vehicle has its own actuator which controls that particular door's lock.
Occasionally they fail. You can pull the actuator and bench test is with a multi-meter to see if it's bad (not sure factory spec.).
If you need to replace it, which is what it sounds like, the part number is referenced as I-05 at the bottom of the page (90-118).

I agree, the lack of an interior door handle on the rear door is a serious design flaw. I wonder if anyone has managed to modify the rear panel and install one? If not, I may give it a whirl one day.

This is a good idea. behind the panel doesn't look that different than a Gen 2. I think it could be done and would be a great mod.

Make fun of me now,

The plug for the rear swing out motor was off lol, plugged it back in and it works great.
