For your consideration, here are several impressive chassis-mounted custom camping vehicles.
These are in the "less than 15,000 lbs" weight class.

lost, but making time
Very timely posting, Chip :)

This one has always intrigued me and when I saw this and your other posting about the Bremach from the same company, seeing all that diamond plate, I wanted to have another look (didn't realize that was what it was, when painted).

Apparently, they like the diamond plate for its scratch resistance and as for insulation, that seems to be (block?) foam added to the inside.

This method of hard-side lifting roof also offers a lot of protection for the windows and security as well. Other than the complications to the interior due to the moving roof, it sure has a lot going for it. (Sönke's has lots of visual appeal, however !)

Sure is a lot of food for thought !

Thanks !

I bumped into a Belgian couple with a very neat looking self-build Unimog camper with a cabin very similar to that of the innovan, albeit a bit larger. That photo of the innovan just looks very rear heavy though!!

dzzz

Not a bad price for the extensive moulding. But I don't see anything that isn't done better by others. The clamshell being cool isn't a feature or benefit, it's just a cool giant clamshell.
There certainly may be aspects of the design I don't appreciate from looking at the videos.

The Polycomposit site does not seem to be loading anymore. I wonder if they are still in business.
