Excelsior!
Am enjoying your build! A long time ago my first offroad truck was a 1955 Dodge stepside that had a blown motor, trans and axle. Before long it had a nice 318 with headers, front axle lift, new trans and LSD in the rear axle.

Keep posting pictures!

Thanks for the info. I plan on doing the vent tube mod this weekend and I already installed a Raptor lift pump. Eventually I am going to get the Juice with Attitude mainly because I like to know everything that's going on with my truck. I got my shell all masked today and fixed the back window, so tommorow it's paint.:wings:

Did you rattle can your truck cap or spray it with an actual spray gun? I picked up a cap over the weekend for free and just primed it today. I have no paint experience so I am wondering how this is going to turn out, I'm spraying mine using my air compressor. Looks like your's turned out nice! Love the build.

Nice work! I am very interested to see what you think of the Detroit Locker. I have a Detroit in a 14bolt in a Tacoma that I like for a wheelin' rig but you definitely know its there. It is a relatively lightweight short wheelbase truck though. I am planning an ARB for the rear my 97 Cummins, but the simplicity of a Detroit holds a lot of appeal. Please keep us posted with your impression.

I sprayed the shell with a gun and compressor. I just used rustoleum paint. As far as the detroit goes, so far so good. I've used them on other rigs, so I know how they act though. Thanks for the compliments!

The transmission was built by Wild Diesel.

Shouldn't have any problems with that one :bike_rider: I heard Wild Diesel put on quite the show here in Cache Valley over the weekend at the truck pulls. A claimed 2000HP out of a 5.9 Cummins--Yahoo! :Wow1:

Well are you back and where are those pics. I really want to here more about the Detroit too. Is the extended cab long bed wheelbase enough that you don't really notice it or does it sometimes unload rather violently. Like I said before I have a Detroit in a 14 bolt the back of a 1996 Tacoma, what I didn't mention is that it has 42 inch Iroks and I shortened the wheelbase to about 116 inches. I also have a 1987 Chevy crew cab 4x4 long bed on 36's with a welded 14 bolt. My 97 Dodge extended cab long bed has a worn out limited slip and I have been saving for an ARB, but I have a lot of other projects and recently found a used Dana 80 35 spline Detroit for a Dodge with 30k miles for a decent price. You have got me leaning pretty heavily towards this Detroit. The ARB obviously needs a compressor and is lots of money, but I have never driven a truck as big as our Dodges with the Detroit in the rear. I know in my Taco it is sometimes a little violent when it decided to unlock. I'll stop babbling, but please let me know a little more about your experience.
