Using shackles made in China?

Inyo_man

Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.
Crosby and CM shackles are what populate my recovery bag.
I personally steer clear of shackles made in China.
My brother prefers Van Beest (Holland and France).

Actually in most cases the cheap batch approved shackles, made in China, India, Turkey, The US of A and other parts of the world, stretch but not shatter. This means the pin works loose. We also work on individual testing as opposed to batch testing. Also the stamp that marks the SWL/WWL must be cut not cast. If it's cast it's not individual tested. I like Kong, Van Beest and Pewag; but I wouldn't touch it unless it had the British Standard mark for BS EN 13889
