I really like this idea. I had been waiting for quite some time for a Black Pine Turbo Tent but they are unattainable at this point so I gave in and bought a 10x10 Kodiak, I wish this had come out a little sooner!:Wow1:

Very nice! Im digging the way the quick release poles work, kind of like our PETT. Shoot, that might be the tent that even makes me ditch the RTT and go back to the ground.

I was thinking "very HARD" about turbo tent but decided to get REI Kingdom 6. Turbo tent were too heavy and bulky. Check out this you tube link on the tent.

That thing packed big. That was not included the extra room on the back.

This video had extra room setup. I wish they made the tent packs smaller.

Over the weekend camping trip, one of the guys had the Colman EZ-up (think it was called that) tent, same basic idea as that one, very sturdy and well built at 1/10th the price and 1/2 the weight. I'm sure it's a great tent, but just to high dollar for most folks.

wow after watching that i'm glad i have my springbar. i would hate putting a rain fly on a tent that big. and it doesn't look very taut which mean it would be very noisy in gusty wind. cool concept though.

I have a pett shelter too and what wories me is the fact that in semi heavy wind, the poles on the pett shelter would unlock and and fold in. I can't tell from the pics if it's the same. You may want to check that out first

curious if when she pulled down the roof when breaking it down ? if it was pulling a cord releasing something ? otherwise that seems like it came down way to easy in the middle ?

My PETT tent did the same thing two years ago in a light breeze.
It bent over like it was bowing.
Not good if I had been in it :sombrero:

That is why I picked up a new shelter last year.

I have a turbo tent and I liked everything about it, but the rain fly clips (yes it sucked to put it on) cracked and it wasn't very water proof even after treating it. We never got wet inside the tent, but the material held a lot of water and it took a while to dry out. We used it for almost three years, which doesn't sound like a lot, but we almost never stay in the same place more than one night, so that tent saw a lot of up down action.

We replaced it with an Oztent RV4, it costs a lot of money, but once you see one in person, you know why. My wife and I just aren't crazy about the shape, you loose alot of the utility with that shape. Whereas with the turbo/jet tent style, I think there is more usuable space.

I might be working a deal with a buddy of mine, he wants my Oztent and I would prefer the jet tent. Won't be until early next year, but that is the direction I am leaning.

All three tents are heave (the Oz's even more so), but for the weather and amount of use my tent sees, it's the price you pay, plus the truck doesn't care if the tent weighs 10lbs or 50lbs. So its not really an issue, for me.

I am considering JET TENT F21 so would like to some more feedback. I want something that can be great in wind and can not set up fast.

Anyone has Jet tent f21?

Review of JetTent

I've had mine for about a year and I am impressed with its quality and function. I purchased it as a compliment and expansion to the RTT, particularly for those in my family desiring a ground tent. Its main benefit relative to the OZTENT is it deploys to an ample height so basically anyone can stand without difficulty within the tent. Also, it is not as long as the OZTENT so there are more packing options. The main downside relative to the OZTENT is it appears to take a little extra time in takedown to fold the tent so it will fit in the bag. Also, I think it is important to have a clear idea where the tent (either the OZTENT or the JetTent) will be transported; I found mine to fit reasonably well on the side of the trailer box but its somewhat cumbersome to put on the roof and its too big to fit in the cargo area of either vehicle with the seats up. Finally, apparently all OZTENT products (JetTent and OZTENT) are made in China, although apparently with good quality and quality control.

Here is mine deployed (there is an awning on the opposite side and a rain fly (not deployed here); the tent without rainfly is billed as being good for most rain showers):

Another post from the dead.

I apologize for my recent rash of bringing up old posts for info. Hate to start a new thread for questions.

Anyone more reviews of this tent? Not a whole lot of info on the net about these.

I have been going back and forth between the Oztent rv4 and then the Kodiak 10x10. Ruled the OZtent out due to interior height. Found Crom's report on the Kodiak VX with side windows and really liked it. Only problem is that only one place sells them and they are back ordered for a while.

Upon talking to a retailer she recommended the JetTent to me due to my need for ventilation and height (I am 6'6"). I had never looked at them before due to price but I found a damaged but repaired new in box tent for $200 off. Still $300 more than the Kodiak VX but immediately available and seems to have some advantages. Quicker to set up, bigger awning, ability to add extra panels and create more room, ability to open up windows even while raining, and higher inside height.

Anyone that bought one have anything to add or anyone have hands on experience with them?

Thanks!
