So I've been playing around with the idea of creating my own model of a snorkel for the 4th gen, tired of being led on by ARB. I've got some idea as to pricing and R&D, but what I want to know is what kind of interested there is around having a purpose-built, well-formed snorkel specifically for the 4th gen. Obviously I cannot dive into this without a reasonable expectation of marketability, so if you'd be interested, please vote or let me know! Price would likely be close to the $500 mark, but there are too many variables to be worked out right now. Help me help you, people.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Just use the LC80 Snorkel. It's almost a perfect fit. I've had mine on for just about a year and while I still need to cinch the front bolt in some, the gaps are almost unnoticeable.

I want a snorkel for my 4th gen as well.

The 5th gen 4runner snorkels are actually on the boat sailing to the U.S. right now per ARB rep. Wasn't Safari developing the 4th and 5th gen snorkels in parallel? I know there was a 4th gen owner with a prototype installed. Anyone know the status of the 4th gen 4runner snorkels??

Status = Never going to happen. The snorkel thread on T4R gets bumped once in awhile but basically they've been promising a snorkel since like 2013 or something stupid like that. Come check mine out some time, we're both in Orange County. Have you been on a So Cal T4R run yet? We have them about monthly.

I don't have a 4th gen, but please promise me, for the love of god(s); that if you do go through all the steps of designing, developing, prototyping, and selling a new snorkel for the 4th gen, you don't use the same ol', junky, crappy, shape, that's been used for the past 40 years. Add some DESIGN and flow to it and make it look decent and "complimentary" to the 4th gen lines..... take cues from the LR4s......
