4WD in the snow

So I have a 2008 frontier v6 6spd ~50k miles, I noticed while driving in 4high there was a sporadic miss every once and a while. Mostly when driving up hills on ice covered roads, like a miss every once and a while. A slight delay, or miss or studder. Only happens in 4hi not in 4lo or at low speeds. anyone got any ideas?
clutch is good, fluids have been drained and replaced?

Maybe your tires were just slipping on a patch of ice?
Or traction control kicking in??

kinda what i was thinking, the slip light does not come on, and I have new tires, and the road is equally covered in snow. Constant snow pack and ice pack, slipping some of the time, but not slipping or studdering most of the time?

is it during tight turns or just super random?

super random, i drove from Az to Oregon a few months back and that is the first time i noticed it. Does not happen on dry pavement, only on icy roads and my first thought was it was slipping on slick spots. But the past few days i have been driving evenly snow packed roads and it happens at all speeds. mostly about 2-3k rpms or when accelerating, and it seems to be like the 4wd is kicking on and off or slipping or something?
thoughts?

I assume you have tried taking it out of 4wd and re-engaging it? check your hubs etc. I hate to tell ya to take it in and have it checked out but dang... sucks when that type of stuff happens

yes have been taking it in and out of 4wd, to no avail....I am trying not to take it in...but might be the only way to get the code to get it all worked out . Drove to Portland the other day and back had mostly all good with a few slight misses in the 4wd but it is so inconsistent it is really hard to tell what the problem.

You can get codes for free if you go to pep boys are something. autozone used to do it but stopped about 2 years ago or so.
