The interior layout is amazingly ergonomic with items like beds and tables (and showers) that fold away when not needed. The craftsmanship is clearly superior to anything I've ever seen in a class B (and we've looked at a lot). Plantation Teak and Mahogany throughout, oak parquet floors, no sharp corners, not an inch of cheap (and toxic) particleboard anywhere, only high quality plywood under the few laminated surfaces. Many people have compared the interiors of Adventurewagens (both VW and Ford) as akin to being inside a high-end old-school sailboat. Ed once told me that after switching to Ford he would never go back.
In my very biased opinion, the best Class B is (for the time being) only available as a "pre-owned" Adventurewagen. And I'm ready to eat my words if someone can show me another Class B with real wood, no vinyl, particle board or sharp corners, with screened awning windows you can keep open in the pouring rain, that is fully self-contained and quickly convertable from bedroom to shower room to kitchen/dining room to living room all in a parkable van with plenty of storage to boot.

Feel free to contact me for Build sheets, specific photos or additional information.

Sorry to see you are reluctantly selling. But since you have decided to do so, I hope your sale goes very well. That is one of the nicest rigs I have ever seen. Attention to quality, detail, craftsmanship, materials, systems, accessories, etc, etc, etc... very, very nice. Great color and very low miles to boot.

If it doesn't move as fast as you like, more pictures would do it better justice. She's cream of the crop.

Nice looking van! How long is the upstairs bed? Could two adults (6' & 5'6") sleep there comfortably? Same queston for the lower bed?

Thanks,

Howard

Adventurewagen status

I have this sold pending deposit this week.

If anything falls through I'll re-post or let you know. 2-3 others were interested this weekend as well.

Thanks, Eric

Adventurewagens were built by Ed Anderson at a shop just south of Fort Bragg, CA. They are beautiful examples of hand craftsmanship. Ed first made Adventurewagens on VW van chassis, and switched to Ford E-series vans some time in the 1990s. I think 2002 was the final year of the Adventurewagen production.

I first saw Ed's products in the late 1990s. He was converting an E-350 Quigley 4x4 for a National Geographic photographer. Man, I loved that truck!

Thanks Haven,

You are an endless font of information!

I was wondering why I had never heard of this company. I really like the topper set up, with the bed in there, it seems like it would be perfect for a small family of four or so.

Haven. How in the world do you know all this stuff? You are like an encyclopedia for the off-road world.
