Take this van anywhere. I purchased this cargo van from a used car dealer in Utah in 2019. It had 34k on the odometer. As a van lover and an outdoorsman, It has been my dream to have a camper van capable of getting me to the remote parts of the San Juan Desert and the high passes of Colorado. It has been so much fun over the last 3 years. We've been on a lot of adventures, but it is time to concentrate on family and art, my side business. A little under 66,000 miles on her now. I just took her to the san rafael swell for a little canyon exploration and that might be her last adventure with me as i'm looking at Subarus. If you want an offroad van that you can cook, sleep, stay warm, and survive the zombie apocalypse, its great for that. I listed all the features below in detail, but to highlight a few - it has a sink, cooktop, hood fan, fridge, heater, bed, dresser, solar, cargo box, roof rack, winch, aluminum front bumper, external battery, offroad lights, inverter, and winter and summer tires. It gets about 13mpg.
The 4x4 conversion was professionally installed by Timberline Vans, a 4x4 outfitter in Denver that specializes in Fords and Chevy’s. The 4x4 package includes a 4x4 transfer case with 4 low and limited slip differential - manual shift, six-inch lift, front end torsion bar suspension, and is geared down for turning large tires. A van 4x4 spec sheet from Timberline is included with the sale.
The van is custom converted into a unique off-road camper. Insulation is Rockwool, 2.5 to 3.5 inches thick. Heat source is the well-known 12v heater by Eberspacher that runs on the vehicles gasoline tank. It is controlled by a digital thermostat and heats the van up fast and makes it very comfortable even in -20°F. Wall Paneling is 3/16 plywood covered with grey felt. The flooring is insulated with 1.5-inch foam and covered with Pergo waterproof laminate wood.
