Its a beautiful day
Hey Everybody,

First off, THANK YOU guys for your hard work and knowledge that you share on this forum. I have been soaking up inspiration for years without contributing, so here we go.

My name is Sean Kerrick Sullivan and I am a professional photographer, aerial cinematographer, producer, and location scout working globally in adventure sports, travel, and conservation sectors. I am an avid snowboarder, fly fisherman, & outdoorsman and historically, my work keeps me on the road most of the year.

So ........

I found a 77' Chinook for $600 on St. Patricks Day this year so I dropped everything, and picked up my tool box. ( I gave Randy $800 cuz hey, it was his dream to run this rig and he never got the chance to)

The Chinook was sitting on some crazy stilts 60+ miles from home and time was of the essence so upon inspection I went home, stripped the bed, Leer shell, and Yakima cargo box off the 2003 TRD SR5 4x4 v8 Tundra...... and the fun began.

that said fusing these two together and getting everything dialed for a month long snowboard, snowmobile and fishing trip... - It felt like taking about two semesters worth of Junior or Senior level college work load, and cram it into 8 days. That's kind of what it felt like. -

I learned a lot, spent more money, and lost more time on this project than anticipated, so, fair warning, every picture is worth 1,000 words, smiles, dollars, blisters, or miles. :)

I am just coming off my first trip, which I consider to be the test run before a (wishful thinking?) full redesign of overhaul of the interior.

The mission was from SLC to Whistler, BC to shoot stills and film with professional snowboarder John Jackson and his brother Eric Jackson for John's Redbull TV show, titled, "The Book of John" - Check the last season of the show here. John has been traveling in an INSANE rig himself, so when I arrived in Whistler, I was in good company. (lot 5 anyone?)

Somehow we ended up in Valdez, AK (pictured on Thompson Pass) and did everything we do.

The Alaska-Candada highway is no joke, I consider myself a seasoned driver, but man. What a drive. I've done the Cassier Hwy in a Chevy towing an A-Liner w/ two friends, but I like the Al-Can more.

I consider this Alaska run to just be a dry run of sorts, I've got everything working, but I'm the 3rd owner, so there are a few different generations of jerry-rigged things, but she's 99% solid, I'm just a damn perfectionist.

Now that winter is slowing down I'm looking forward to spending more time exploring all the possibilites and hacks that other chinook owners have come up with.

Cheers!
