Expedition Cabin

I ran a search here, but did not find a thread with the wording above.
Ran across these while looking at videos a bit ago on YouTube.

I would think this would weigh quite a bit.
Although it looks impervious to H2O, I would think it would be like a sauna inside of it in hot weather.

I like how the screen slides out on the roof to cover up the hole by the top vent.

I have seen this posted somewhere before, but I can not remember where.

I'm envisioning two of those on top of an old deuce, mounted sideways. Mother-in-law flat, or kids room, etc.

Very interesting to see. Thanks

Interesting concept. Like the no tent factor, solid sides better for wind and noise. Floor pass thru to vehicle below, nice but how to make that work. Have to cut a hole in vehicle roof? Cranking it up looks problematic, for someone with a bad back it's easy for me to spot that. Pros and cons to everything, this has better attributes than a roof top tent IMO. A downside might be weight.

Thanks for posting this. I love seeing that there are people out there coming up with new ideas and equipment. The same old concepts get old. If this was around and actually works, I'd probably be more enthused about it than a RTT if I was in the market. Got to know how much it weighs though.

You guy's are welcome.
I am sure it is heavy.

Actually what turns me off is the solid sides.
I would rather just have a trailer then.

What I use to like about my two tent trailers I had in the past was the canvas tent material.
More like being in a tent when you are sleeping on the bed of a tent trailer, or in a roof top tent.

I guess the solid sides just seem to isolate one from nature to much.

I think this is their website.

English is available at the bottom left of the screen.

I did find a video on the site on a nice Toyota HZJ 79.
Looks like is raises electrically.

Thats obviously a newly made one, a while back some one posted a
1930-50's article with basicly the same design from the US.

I seem to remember it was a black and white magazine artical with a dwg of a woody type vehicle with the same russian doll type roof

The sides would be nice in bear country or where personal safety is a concern. I use an E350 4x4 with a fiberglass raised roof. It gets parked in Arizona all summer long. With the roof vent just cracked it stays cool inside.
